Michael Bury

Hello everyone my name is Michael Bury and I’m an Adult Medical/Surgical & ICU Step-Down nurse at Duke University Hospital. I have been working at Duke and on this unit for one year. I graduated from Coastal Carolina Community College with my ADN in 2009. My professional goals are something that has really taken into motion considerably in the last 7 days. First of all I obviously want to obtain my BSN and plan to complete this program in 2012. Currently I’ve been pursuing a position in the Adult Medical ICU or CTICU. After I finish my BSN I plan on joining the Navy and would like to do critical care transport/rescue with the Marine helicopter pilots. Within my first four years in the Navy I would like to begin pursuing my MSN in education and obtain a teaching position at Coastal Carolina Community College, UNCW, or Cape Fear Community College. Last August I got married and moved to Chapel Hill. My wife is currently in her 2nd of 4 years of Pharmacy school at UNC. I recently tore my achillies tendon and still have been rehabbing it, but prior to that I enjoyed playing basketball, running, and surfing when I was on the coast. I am not too concerned with returning to school since it has not been long since I graduated and over the summer I took 2 online classes to enter this program.
