Nicole Kuhn
Hello Everyone! My name is Nicole Kuhn, and I have been a nurse for 5 years. Currently I work as the charge nurse for the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune. Upon graduating from Nursing School in New Hampshire, I moved to Boston and trained at an Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital, which is where I met my now husband., Michael.
Soon after meeting Michael, I learned that he was on Active Duty for the Navy and he had received orders to Camp Lejeune. At that time, I decided to take on a travel assignment, which led me to Onslow Memorial Hospital and subsequent assignments for one year. I then took the position at the Naval Hospital, where I have remained for the past 3 ½ years.
I live with my husband, dog, and cat in Emerald Isle, NC and adore it! I also have two stepchildren who we visit frequently in Maryland.
This is the first time I have taken an online course and have been an adult learner, so I am definitely experiencing some fears about this life decision. I hope to complete this program and move on to the FNP program. My ultimate goal would be to work in Orthopaedics, probably because this is my comfort zone.
I am really looking forward to working with everyone this semester!
