Maria McPherson

Hello,

My name is Maria McPherson and sorry for the delayed responses. I just got all registered and in the course. I'm sooo excited. I've been a registered nurse for 10 years and have worked many different roles in nursing. When I began my career I worked for 5 years on a surgical unit, a year and a half in quality/case management and for the last 3 and a half years I have been the Nursing Informatics Analyst at Columbus Regional Healthcare System. I love my current job! My goals are to obtain my BSN and then my informatics certification. My career path has become the joy of my life, even if it is stressful. I take everything the nurses and doctors do at our facility and convert it to an electronic version so that we can achieve a complete electronic health record. I'm also a full time mother with 8 year old twins. I have a boy and a girl so it's the best of both worlds. I do however spend as much time doing things for them as I do at work; so in the middle of all that I working on my course work. Woo, it makes me tired just thinking about it. I look forward to this course and working with each and everyone of you. :)
