Chantelle Guthrie

My name is Chantelle Guthrie and I currently work as a RN in the NICU at NHRMC. I graduated last year with my ADN and was a social worker for 10 years prior to going to nursing school. I am currently completing online coursework to be certified as a sexual assault nurse examiner. My long term goal is to complete a FNP program and become certified as a pediatric sexual assault examiner. I am married with 1 cat and my husband is currently deployed with the Army reserves in Afghanistan. My goal in this course and in the completion of this BSN program is to advance my knowledge base of nursing theory and practice. I think that continued education provides critical thinking skills and updated information on disease processes, treatment methods, and research. I also feel that continuing nursing education will better prepare me to provide optimal nursing care to patients. I have to admit that I am nervous about my ability to handle work and online classwork at the same time but I am going to try very hard to stay optimistic!
