Ann Pratt

My name is Ann Pratt. I look forward to furthering my education with all of you, and am excited to learn from all of your experiences in the nursing field. This past May I graduated from an ADN program in Twenty-nine Palms, CA. Two weeks after graduation my husband, 6 year old daughter, two dogs, cat, frog, and I took a road trip to Jacksonville, NC. My husband is in the military, so we are used to moving. My summer has been spent taking the NCLEX Kaplan course, studying, setting up our new house, and applying for jobs. Prior to nursing school I served four years in the military as a musician. My only nursing experience was in nursing school. I spent several weeks at the end of my ADN program following a RN preceptor in the emergency room at the Naval Hospital 29 Palms. The emergency room is my favorite specialty area. I would love to work in the emergency room right out of school but I am currently applying to med-surg positions in hopes to solidify my assessment skills and patient care so I can feel confident in the acute care setting. I look forward to taking this class as well as for other nursing classes this fall.
