Message from Marianne

Hi Everyone,My name is Marianne Coy and I am just now joining you. Somehow I was overlooked in the initial email for this class, so Dr. Kim is giving me an extension to get caught up with the rest of you.I have been in the health care profession since I graduated high school holding positions as a front desk receptionist, medical records clerk, secretary to 4 RNs, CNA, and LPN. I graduated the ADN program at Cape Community College in Wilmington, NC in 1998. I took 5 years off before deciding to persue my BSN degree. I started working on my related courses for this degree in 2003 and I started the RN-Access program in the spring of 2006. I worked for 8 years as a medical-surgical nurse at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington and just last year made a BIG career change into clinical research working with PPD (Pharmaceutical Product Development).I have a 17 year old daughter and a 10 month old grandson who is the joy and love of my life. Spending time with him and my daughter is one of many things that I enjoy doing for fun. I love to travel--I better since it is what I do 60-70% of the time with my job. I also love shopping, going to the beach, photography, and cross-stitching.I have attached 3 pictures (2 are of me in Hawaii this past May and one is me and my cutie pie, PJ).I look forward to working with you all this semester.
